💡 Goal - Filter applicants into different categories and create templates.
After reading over candidates applications, we filter into 3 buckets:
- No.
- No but possible future.
- Yes move onto trial piece.
We usually have 2 team members to review each application and decide their no’s, maybes and yes’s. Once both team members have their list they share with each other to discuss candidates and make a final decision.
Below are the templates we use. Recommend creating templates as it saves a lot of time!

Thank you for sending in your application! After reviewing dozens of extremely competitive applications, we decided to move forward with another candidate who more closely matched our current needs. It was NOT an easy decision, and we very much appreciate that you took the time to apply.

SIGNATURE
If we’re struggling to choose between candidates or someones previous work was really strong then we send them a message letting them know it hasn’t worked out for this role but we have other roles in the coming months.
