The Best Webflow Apps

Webflow is a powerful tool for building interactive, CMS-powered websites. Although they are constantly adding new features to their base tool, in late 2023 they also added an Apps Marketplace. This marketplace enables users to integrate third-party apps directly into the Webflow Designer, allowing for enhanced functionality, workflow automation, and seamless tool integration. With the right selection of tools, it is now possible to create websites that are more powerful and comprehensive than ever before.

Introduction

The Designer Apps marketplace is one of the highest-value tools ever implemented by Webflow. It closes the gap between the huge number of no-code and low-code SaaS applications that have come out in recent years and your design process in Webflow. There are apps in a huge variety of categories, ranging from analytics, to process automation, to localization, to e-commerce. Once you determine your tech stack, you can start to to build an arsenal of tools that exist entirely within the Webflow designer.

In some ways, this was a major business transformation by Webflow. It repositioned the company from a pure design tool to a marketplace for no-code SaaS tools that can be seamlessly implemented into your website. The company shifted from purely front-end design to a more full-stack no-code experience. Therefore, Webflow designers can develop a sense of how to use the designer and the app marketplace to offer more full-stack functionalities on their websites.

The marketplace already features hundreds of integrations, capable of assisting with a huge variety of things, from enhancing the design of your sites to helping with the management of data and documents. Here are nine of our favorite tools:

The Nine Best Webflow Apps in 2024

Memberstack

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/memberstack

Of course, we’ll start here. Memberstack brings powerful membership functionality directly into your Webflow site, allowing you to add data attributes and access key features with a simple click—no more manual copying or tab switching. Memberstack offers secure authentication, gated content, Stripe integration for instant e-commerce payments. With 500+ free components and a developer-friendly API, Memberstack makes building, managing, and scaling memberships effortless in Webflow.

Why We Love It

When you are trying to build a website, whether you're a freelancer, a small business, an agency, or any other kind of customer or client-facing business, it costs money and time to build out memberships, payments, and authentication. The goal of Memberstack is to streamline those processes into a single platform, letting you focus on the things that are harder to scale.

This is really what “no-code” is about. The goal should always be to offload tough work to tools that have been proven to work and to use the extra time to focus on things that can’t be offloaded like building a brand or going after early clients or users. This is why tools like Memberstack are so powerful. They are force multipliers for your projects. They can let you extend the work you do to totally new limits.

Pricing:

Free - 🎉

Basic (up to 1000 members) - $29/month or $300/year

Professional (up to 5000 members) - $49/month or $348/year

Business (10,000+ members) - $99 or $948/year

Finsweet Components

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/finsweet-components

As with many of the tools we’ll discuss here, the Finsweet Components app does one task especially well: adding Javascript components to your Webflow site. Developed by Finsweet, this app lets you manage their Javascript components – particularly sliders and cookie consent popups – without needing to leave the designer. It’s totally free for testing and staging sites (i.e. sites on a [website].webflow.io domain) and lets you preview the components directly in Webflow.

Why We Love It

Although the features are a bit limited, I think this is a great tool because it demonstrates the power of the Designer apps in Webflow. Sliders are famously complicated to develop in Webflow. They usually require some kind of Javascript after the <body> tag and are complicated to integrate with other things like CMS' or external data. This tool is a direct response to those complications, providing a single no-code solution that’ll let you build extremely customized sliders without having to mess around with any of that.

Again, this is exactly how these Designer apps should be used. Instead of trying to create complicated solutions to the limitations of no-code, you now have options to find other solutions within the no-code world. Once you have done that and run out of options, you’ll have a much better idea of what you should be focusing on.

Pricing:

Free - only available for [website].webflow.io domains 🎉

Monthly/Annual Subscription - pay per component, with the only available components right now being:

Slider: $7/month or $60/year.

Cookie Consent: $14/month or $144/year.

One-time Payment - pay once per component and get a lifetime of use:

Slider: $99

Cookie Consent: $279

Wized

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/wized

Another tool by Finsweet, this app acts as a connection between your Webflow project and the Wized backend. Wized sits between your Webflow site and any database where you’re storing information. Your Webflow site becomes a front-end for this data, and the Wized platform helps you design flows for where the data goes. It can cause certain events to be triggered in your app through “Actions”, make requests to databases via user actions or forms, and add authentication for things like gated content.

Why We Love It

If you’ve spent any time trying to build a website, you know how difficult database management can be. If you like to store data on things like Airtable, Xano, Firebase, or Supabase, Wized is the easiest way to do this. All you need is some kind of REST API and the proper wiring on your Webflow site. The potential here is almost unbelievable. This extends the capabilities of Webflow from simple drag-and-drop HTML/CSS editing into full-stack web apps which would usually be built in Vue or React. This is why we love this tool – it completely changes what is possible to build in Webflow and the Designer app makes it as straightforward as possible to create something so powerful.

Pricing:

Free - on a [website].webflow.io domain 🎉

Lite - $15 per month or $108/year

Small - $39 per month or $348/year

Medium - $69 per month or $708/year

Large - $169 per month or $1788/year

Optibase

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/optibase

The Optibase app from Flowout lets you set up A/B tests and split tests from within the Webflow designer. A/B testing is used on sites where the layout of components might affect click-through and conversion rates. It allows you to track click events and form submissions for every element on your page. It also connects the Webflow app with a native web app, hosted on the Optibase site, which lets you visualize the performance of these tests in one place.

Why We Love It

Everyone wants to be a “data-driven designer” but few really understand how to do this. A/B testing is one of the most direct and straightforward solutions. Testing every element on your website can help you create the highest-converting version of your webpage. If you are a Webflow agency, this is also a great way to make your designs stand out from the rest. It offers measurable proof that you know how to build websites that do better than your competitors (and that get better over time).

The Designer app is also only half of the equation, with the real data being found in the connected web app. This means that the entire process of designing an A/B testable site can very easily be tracked and actionable changes can be made on the go. Over time, you can try to implement the learning from this into other kinds of tools you plan to build.

Pricing:

Free - 3 tests and 10,000 tested users 🎉

Basic - $19/month or $190/year - 5 tests and 20,000 tested users

Business - $39/month or $390/year - 20 tests and 50,000 tested users

Professional - $79/month or $790/year - 50 tests and 120,000 tested users

Slater

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/slater

Slater offers a dedicated JavaScript and CSS environment built directly into Webflow, allowing you to code with just a single script in your project footer—no external tools are needed. Powered by AI, Slater generates custom JavaScript on demand, explains it, and turns coding into a learning experience. It supports collaboration, letting multiple team members work seamlessly on the same project with version control and staging options. With a drag-and-drop library for saved code snippets, Slater streamlines development across projects.

Why We Love It

If you’ve been following the world of AI coding at all, you know that code editors are one of the fastest-growing use cases right now. Particularly following the massive success of Cursor, there is a strong demand for AI coding assistants to help supercharge the kinds of tools that are available to people. That’s why Slater is one of our favorites. It is one of the only apps that bring this new form of development directly into Webflow. And the possibilities are quite literally endless.

Slater also solves one of the biggest challenges within Webflow – organizing your code. If you are relying on a constellation of <body> and HTML embeds to power your apps, it is easy to get lost. Slater simplifies this by relegating all of the code into a single line, which can encompass all of the code in your project. This is good practice generally and should make the development process much smoother.

Jetboost

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/jetboost

Jetboost is a no-code powerhouse that brings some advanced CMS features to Webflow, letting agencies and freelancers create complex websites without coding. You can add dynamic filtering, real-time-search, interactive maps, and favoriting options to improve the user experience of your site. It lets you keep your design process entirely within Webflow while giving you the power to add custom interactions like sorting and pagination. Its setup is straightforward, with step-by-step guidance and responsive customer support to ensure a smooth experience.

Why We Love It

If you are a Webflow superuser, it would be hard not to know about Jetboost. Its suite of tools is (among) the de facto standards for dynamic filtering and CMS searches. This Designer app makes setting up these features on your CMS so much quicker and easier by aggregating all of the requirements into one location. This means that you can spend less time bouncing between tabs and instead focus on building out how and where you want these features to appear.

Pricing:

Free - 🎉

Core - $24/month or $228/year

Premium - $49/month or $468/year

Growth - $95/month or $1,140/year

Ultimate - $175/month or $1,788/year

Supersparks

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/supersparks

Supersparks is a tool that gives Webflow sites custom-designed user-generated content (UGC) features, including comments, reviews, and community posting. From nested comment sections to custom product reviews and a CMS-based audio player, Supersparks provides robust, customizable tools to build interactive, community-driven Webflow sites.

Why We Love It

User-generated content (UGC) is a good strategy for businesses where user feedback is a driver of conversion. Letting people comment on product releases, thought leadership content or products themselves is a powerful way of building trust around your brand. The big idea is to create a community around your product. This is why Supersparks is such a powerful tool. It offers an easy way to create dynamic UGC without needing to worry about complex data management systems. It also lets you customize how this content is presented, meaning that you can rely less on out-of-the-box solutions like Disqus or Commento.

I think a good implementation of this would be to establish some UGC goals and then encourage visitors to your site to comment on anything that you release. As with any community, you should set content guidelines and ensure that every one that is participating understands them. Supersparks offers a lot of features to do this like pre-moderation and spam filtering. I think it is one of the best options for businesses looking to do this.

Pro - $27/month or  $240/year

Premium - $55/month or  $480/year

Whalesync

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/whalesync

Whalesync makes syncing data to and from your Webflow CMS effortless, enabling seamless two-way connections with tools like Airtable, Notion, Shopify, and Postgres in just minutes. It handles complex fields, reference syncing, and even Webflow’s e-commerce features, empowering users to build anything from programmatic SEO pages to e-commerce product management in Airtable or blog updates from Notion. Designed for teams and enterprises alike, Whalesync supports scalable projects, helping companies easily connect Webflow with production databases and manage dynamic content.

Why We Love It

As mentioned above, connecting external databases with your Webflow site is a frequent headache for people looking to build complex Webflow sites. Whalesync offers a streamlined solution to this, acting as a replacement for Webflow’s native CMS systems while allowing you to integrate more diverse sources of data into your site. A highly complex version of this kind of system might also include iPaaS systems like Make.com or Zapier to create highly automated data flows that can provide better services to clients.

For example, if you prefer to write in Notion, Whalesync can help you transfer that content into Webflow without requiring the complicated formatting changes that come with putting Notion sites into Webflow’s CMS system. I think this is a great option for businesses who have existing stores of data and don’t want to figure out how to transfer it into some Webflow native format.

Better Shadows

https://webflow.com/apps/detail/better-shadows

Here’s one with a more specific purpose (and one I like to use on my own sites): Better Shadows simplifies the creation of realistic shadows in Webflow, transforming a previously manual process into a quick, click-based experience. With this tool, you can instantly add smooth shadows to existing CSS classes, preview how they look across different color backgrounds and apply professionally designed shadow presets with ease.

Why We Love It

I love this tool because I use it all of the time. Believe it or not, the best shadows (the ones you’d expect to see on a professional website) are much more than a one-dimensional shadow offset. They often required multiple layers of shadows and a mathematical understanding of light sources and z-offets. Better Shadows is the best tool I’ve seen to build professional-looking shadows on block and text elements on your page in an instant. It also updates the Designer in real-time, making it so easy to see if the shadows feel appropriate in the overall design of the site.

How do I choose the right Designer App for me?

Picking the right suite of tools for your site depends on the goals you’ve set and the requirements you have. Full-stack development differs from front-end development in that the elements you include on your site need to be more intentional and functional. Therefore, the best strategy for deciding which tools you want to use is to figure out what features you want, check the marketplace to see if there are tools that do that at your price point, and then start wireframing how you want those to appear on your site.

The great thing about the app marketplace is that it makes complex actions much more streamlined and straightforward. If you are a more technical developer and need to connect a Postgres database to some kind of Webflow-based frontend, there is an app that does that very easily. If you are not a designer at all but want your Notion writing to get sent to a Webflow site, there is an app that can do that too. The main thing is to begin integrating this process of searching the marketplace for relevant tools into your design process.

Conclusion

If front-end development was made no-code by drag-and-drop site builders, full-stack development will be made no-code by the app marketplace. Understanding what this will mean for your website is the most important thing you can do right now. Begin to develop a suite of tools you understand and which accomplish the things you want your site to do, and add them to your toolbelt. Once you get comfortable with this, it’ll be much easier to build complex and powerful websites.
