Something For That
An interactive software marketplace that allows users to discover, save, & try out products across hundreds of categories
Who you are, what does your project do, and why did you build it?
Hi, I'm Asaiah 👋 I'm a 22 year old software enthusiast who wants to share cool, empowering tools to people who need them! I built an interactive software marketplace that allows users to discover, save, & try out products across hundreds of categories. It started off as me organizing thousands of my bookmarks back in April of last year & then realizing how softwares I've discovered over the years. So I decided to put my research to better use & allow others to discover what I've found! Definitely one of the most challenging things I've done, but considering I'm not a product designer or coder, I'm pretty proud of what I've built! (With the help of awesome tools like memberstack, of course 😉).
Introducing Something For That, an interactive software marketplace that allows users to discover, save, & try out products across hundreds of categories. Our mission is to is to share cool, empowering tools to people who need them!
What problems did Memberstack help you to solve?
I started off with Wized, and though I think it's a powerful tool with tons of flexibility, it may have been a little too flexible for me. Too many manual inputs required to accomplish the same task that Memberstack does in a few clicks. Not to mention the obscurity & lack of plentiful resources. Searching for answers on a discord server with other confused builders was simply stressful! As a fully non-technical person, Memberstack is the way to go.
Memberstack was the essential component we needed to transform our website into a web app! Their community & support features are by far the greatest assets during a build. The how-to videos are detailed & their team is so helpful. For non-technical builders, Memberstack is the way to go!
What are your favorite things about Memberstack? Why are those your favourites?
I love Memberstack for less of it's features, but it's community! The sheer amount of resources, customer support, discussion posts, and how-to-videos are what separates Memberstack in my opinion. That said, I do appreciate Memberstack's integration capabilities!
Our platform is built with Webflow for hosting & design, Memberstack for user accounts, Airtable & Whalesync for data, and Jetboost for CMS favoriting. Also, Zapier helps us make all of these work together, alongside some of the other apps we use, like Ghost & Brevo.
How I built this...
I use Webflow for hosting & design, paired with Jetboost to allow users to save the softwares they find (with their Memberstack account). For the cms, I use airtable to host & whalesync to automatically transfer the data both ways. And of course, I use Zapier to assist with automations like email triggers & data sharing between all these apps.
